One possible option is to look into infertility insurance. These types of procedures aren't often covered by your typical health insurance plan. Most infertility clinics can refer you to several different programs you can pursue. You can also search online to find out what may be right for you. The cost of the monthly premiums for infertility insurance are going to be much lower than paying for all of the procedures out of pocket.

There are some types of infertility insurance programs that require you to pay the amount due. Then you can submit a claim and be reimbursed for up to 70% of the cost. You can generally put this cost on a credit card and then pay most of it when you get the reimbursement check from the infertility insurance company. Look at all of the guidelines of the treatment before you decide on a particular insurance company. Most of them have a limit on the number of treatments they will cover for a specific type of fertility option.

There are some waiting periods for infertility insurance as well. Generally you can't start getting benefits until at least six months after the policy has been activated. You must have been trying to get pregnant without success for at least one year. If you have had a miscarriage in the past year you will not be eligible. Also, most infertility insurance programs won't approve those that are over 40 years of age.

Take your time to compare the various coverage plans and the costs of the infertility insurance programs offered. You need to make an informed decision based on your particular needs. Some of the insurance programs don't cover certain types of procedures and some doctors won't accept this type of payment. You want to make sure that the infertility insurance coverage you purchase is going to help you get the assistance you need to fulfill your dream of having a baby.
